Cowards are in charge of gun safety

Cowards are in charge of gun safety: God isn’t fixing this thing. Stocking up on guns makes gun buyers more dangerous. It’s the people who bought guns that killed people at San Bernardino. The problem is easy access to guns, period. It’s time to quit fooling around moaning and praying. Its time to stand up for real laws that protect victims. Lamentations, somber regards and mental illness are feel-good distractions. Consoling families and praising responders will not help those who really need help––the next victims. The problem isn’t guns, its lackadaisical Americans. The entire world yawns; ho, hum another mass shooting in cookooland. Another batch of innocent Americans are left lying in pools of blood while cowards offer excuses behind meaningless platitudes. How many moments of silence are enough? If excuses make you feel better then you are part of the problem. If guns are sacred then you are part of the problem. It is inevitable; a good guy with a gun is a killer waiting to happen. God is not going to solve your problems for you. The NRA is the voice of profits. More whites have guns than blacks. States with poor gun laws have more gun violence. The only terrorists you and I will ever see in our lifetimes are white US citizens. For every foreign terrorist killing there are twenty domestic terrorist killings. Guns for self-defense is a proven failure. America has more guns and more gun violence than most other nations combined. Guns bought for self-defense kill innocent victims twenty-four times more often than they save a life. What kind of person tries to justify shooting an innocent American child every 7 minutes as the “price of freedom.” More Americans have been killed by gun violence than all Americans killed in wars; 35,000 last year, 300,000 since 2005, millions of Americans killed by gun violence every century. It takes a mental midget to excuse human slaughter based on baloney beliefs and fun with toys. It isn’t foreign terrorists, but the indifference of Americans to gun violence that is the real face of evil.  Richard Dorsey, Hacienda Heights, CA.
