Time for Iraq War Accountability:

Time for Iraq War Accountability:  Our leaders were wrong about making war in Iraq. They were wrong about the threat of Al Qaeda in Iraq. They were wrong about the Iraqis welcoming us as liberators. They were wrong about the Iraqi oil paying costs and sustaining a post-war economy. They were wrong about how long the war would last, the vast numbers of people who would be killed, and whether Iraq could stay afloat without U.S. troops. They were wrong to tell us Shiite and Sunni had a long history of peace that would continue in post-war era. They were wrong––trillions of dollars wrong––about the costs of the Iraq war. They were wrong––hundreds of thousands of lives wrong––about war deaths. Our leaders lied to us repeated about the reasons for going to war in Iraq. 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq. WMD had nothing to do with Iraq. Iraq never had WMD, machinery, delivery capability, or explosive materials. Our leaders went to war with Iraq for their own selfish personal reasons deliberately obscuring the fact that they were lying to the American public. Our leaders and conservative warmongers lied and continued the lies and the cover up; and worst of all, were never taken to court because of the economic disaster they helped promulgate. Our leaders were wrong that the Malaki Shiite government would share power with the Sunnis. Now the same warmongering neocons who led America into its most disastrous military debacle want us to own the war of wars again. Dead American soldiers are not an investment that must be guaranteed by more dead soldiers. Trillions in dollars, invested in trying to help build Iraq is no reason to throw good money after bad with a government support by a fraction of the population. Bush was wrong, Cheney was wrong, Rice was wrong, Hannity, O’Reily and Limbaugh were wrong, Crystal and Drudge were wrong. Dead wrong. Hundreds of thousands of human lives and suffering wrong. 4,489 buried Americans wrong. Our leaders need to be held accountable for unnecessary death and destruction. Those name listed here are a good place to start.  Richard Dorsey, Hacienda Heights, CA
