Individual Freedom not Constitutional

Individual Freedom not Constitutional

Have you ever noticed how certain people shout about “individual freedom” as their Constitutional right? The US Constitution includes nothing about “individual freedoms.” The Constitution was created to “establish a more perfect “Union.” The Constitution states its purpose is to: establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, and provide for a common defense and general welfare. Nowhere are individual freedoms listed, guaranteed, or even mentioned. When someone says the United States was founded for individual liberty that statement is most likely wishful thinking based on selfish interests; it’s an opinion, not a fact. The Bill of Rights and Amendments discuss freedoms, but only as they pertain to general activities: Religion, speech, press, assembly, and grievance petition. The Bill of Rights and Amendments do not list, guarantee, or provide any individual freedoms. Instead they protect: Against search and seizure, punishment without trial, undo punishment, slavery, and denial of vote by race or gender. They also provide for: Trial by jury, access to civil court, federal powers over states, and the people to elect senators. The Bill of Rights and Amendments indicate what rights cannot be taken away from you. Nowhere do they say you are free to exploit workers, batter your wife, hang black people, kill doctors, and otherwise trample the civil rights of other citizens. Even the Declaration of Independence does not mention any individual freedoms. Instead it provides for the establishment of the United States of America as a nation based on the self-evident truths that: All men are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Sorry all you rugged, individual types; freedom is an American privilege not a right. Abuse it and lose it. Scoundrels who wrap themselves in the American flag just really want the freedom to enjoy life selfishly without being held responsible for the terrible tragedies their selfishness incurs.
